Friskis&Svettis is the answer! It’s an easy, fun, and effective way to enjoy the many benefits of physical fitness – and for the fraction of the cost of membership in a commercial gym.
What is Friskis&Svettis?
Friskis&Svettis started in Sweden 1978. Today there are 156 local clubs with around 477,665 members across Europe. The mission of F&S is to offer a fun and accessible high quality workout for everybody. F&S is a non-profit association and the activities are funded almost entirely through membership fees. Friskis&Svettis means "healthy and sweaty".
We call our unique workout "jympa", and this is our core activity. The concept is based on music, the joy of motion and positive leadership – the main ingredients of our physical conditioning. It is fun and effective, and has been developed in co-ordination with experts in the fields of medicine and physiology on the basis of scientific research.
F&S jympa is available in three basic intensities: basic, intermediate and intensive.
Easy to follow does not have to mean easy going... Tough and sweaty classes are available for those who want to be thoroughly challenged.
Whatever the level, warm up, mobility, strength training, cardio-vascular training, slow down, stretching and relaxation are all essential elements which always are included in each class.
Nordic Walking is a complement to the jympa. Ki-boxing offers tough and fun exercise with boxing gloves.
Outdoor jympa during the warm summer months is very popular every year.
F&S sessions fit all ages, and you can exercise according to own needs and different ability.

Today most of us spend our days behind a desk or at the wheel of a car. So it is more important than ever to take regular physical exercise. But F&S does not believe in the "no pain, no gain" philosophy! Our instructors provide all-round training that will build up your level of fitness in a way everyone can enjoy, whatever their age, shape, or size!

- The stroke volume of your heart and its ability to absorb oxygen have increased;
- Your pulse has decreased for the same amount of work and your resting pulse is lower;
- The number of capillaries in your muscles has increased;
