Instructors training

Our instructors: How are they trained?

Friskis&Svettis offers pleasurable and accessible training of high quality for EVERYONE. What all our instructors have in common is that they enjoy being in the middle of a group of participants and convey the message of joyful training, fun and pleasure while training. They have all been through the Friskis&Svettis basic training, divided in step 1 and step 2 but before getting there, they have all passed a selection process which puts your self confidence to the test. The whole process from selection test to becoming an instructor takes in all eight to ten months.

  • Step 1 contains the whole theoretical part on anatomy, physiology, leadership and information on the concept of Friskis&Svettis, its values and different sessions.
  • Step 2 focuses on practical training, how to put together a session, use of music, rhythms etc. Both "steps" contain 1-2 training classes per day - preparation and physical fitness is necessary. After these two steps, the future instructor has to put together a one-hour session, with his/her own music and movements. He/she has to present his/her session to a certified graduator who takes the final decision if the person is qualified to become an instructor. Every year, each instructor passes a so called "quality control" where the instructor gets a feedback on his/her session from an experienced and specially trained senior instructor, all to keep up to the set standards.
